I am so very happy to announce the opening of West Side Stories at the Baranov Museum! Within, visitors are immersed in a re-created fish camp and learn about the characters and community of the west side of Kodiak through the voices of west side residents.
Baranov Museum intern Alexandra Painter combined Breanna Peterson's photographs, photographs from the Kodiak Historical Society's collection, and the radio pieces I produced to direct short films that are available for viewing in the exhibit and at the museum's Youtube channel.
I was the curator and project director and conceived of this project just over a year ago. To learn more about West Side Stories, check out this post I wrote for The Salmon Project or venture over to the "Work" section of this website.
The exhibition will be available for viewing through December.
